We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden
passing of Monique Mary Paul of Saint Mary’s First Nation on
Thursday April 1, 2021 at the age of 23. Born in Fredericton, Monique
was a special employee with St. Mary’s Supermarket, always
helpful and cheerful. She was a proud member of the Black Bear Program
at CFB Gagetown, receiving an award as most improved soldier. Monique
was an avid hockey player with the FYHA. She had a great sense of
adventure and would be the first person to try things. She was happy
and at peace with nature, spending as much time as possible outdoors.
Her niece Adelynne was her best friend, favorite niece and
had a soul mate quality relationship with
her.
She is survived by her mother Jennifer and
Kirk; father John and Terri; siblings Jonathon (Katie), Forrest
(Chloe), Keenan, twin sister Nerissa (Robert), baby brother John;
step-brother Zachery Gates; step-sister Gracie Gates; grandparents
Gary and Joan Paul, Alfonse Paul, Nancy Brooks, John Paul, Marlena and
Paul Hannah; great grandmother "Nanny" Sexton; godmother
Stephanie Atkinson; special cousins Dylan Brooks and Marcie Paul;
several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and
cousins.
She will be resting at the Maqiyahtimok Center
240 Maliseet Drive St. Mary’s First Nation with visitation
beginning Saturday evening April 3, 2021 at 8:00 pm until
MondayApril 5, 2021. The funeral service
will be held, with social distancing measures in place, on Monday
April 5, 2021 at the Maqiyahtimok Center at 1:00 pm. A reception and
auction will be held following the service at St. Mary’s
Entertainment Center. Pallbearers for the service will be Matthew
Gunne, Justin Roberts, Randy Hannah, Philip Paul, Chris Hunter,
Zachery Gates; Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Hannah Jonathon Jagoe,
Forrest Paul, John Paul, Keenan Bear, Dylan Brooks and Sabastian
Gunne.
