Donna was born on June 19, 1943 at Kingsclear NB, a daughter of the late Donald and Annie (MacKay) Burnett. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her son Mark MacKinney, Fredericton and her daughter Lori Dawn Scott, of Fredericton, NB, granddaughters Tabitha Lee Scott and Olivia Toner, both of Fredericton, four great grandchildren, Emma Lee Scott, Welland ON, Jayde, Bailee and Gavin Nolais all of Fredericton and numerous cousins’ nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her brothers, Frank Leslie Burnett and Guy Maurice Burnett, sisters, Ethelyn Ruth Kelly and Bonnie Joyce Burnett, Son in Law Frank Scott and grand children, Jake and Rhoda Scott.
Donna graduated from FHS in 1962 and was employed by the government of NB for over 30 years. In her younger years she was an avid bowler and synchronized swimmer. In her retirement years, she spent many summers with her adored grandchildren and great grandchildren at her daughter Lori Scott’s cottage at Davidson Lake. Donna was a social butterfly and wherever there was water you might find her in her bikini swimming across the lake or talking to people along the shore. She was an angel living among us. Everyone who was privileged enough to be part of her life, knew her as a beautiful soul ready to lend a hand or hold one.
A special thank you to everyone who provided care for her at the DECH and Shannex.
Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no visitation or Funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held on June 19, 2021 in the Dumphy Cemetery.
