It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Albert Cleghorn, aged 67, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, on November 5th, 2020. After a long, courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, he passed peacefully at home.  

Visitation is open to family and friends and will be held from 2- 4p.m. on November 8th, 2020 at Bishop's Funeral Home. Funeral Home Staff will be on hand to assist with Covid guidelines and restrictions.   

Burial in St. Stephen, New Brunswick will follow in a private celebration of life.  

Philip was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick on May 17th, 1953. He graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1971 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick in 1976. 

Philip spent a happy life in Fredericton, working for the NB Power Commission for 38 years until his retirement. He enjoyed curling, watching golf, and refereeing volleyball and soccer. He was also actively involved in Volleyball NB, Fredericton District Soccer Association, Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival, and the NB Curling Association. 

Philip is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Stephanie, his adored children, Jon (Frida) Cleghorn and Chelsea (Andrew) Garrie, and his precious grandsons, Derek Garrie and Matheo Aspnäs Cleghorn. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Lois Cleghorn, his loyal brothers, William "Bill" (Debbie) Cleghorn, Richard "Rick" (Julia) Cleghorn, and his loving sister Laura Gonzalez. Philip was predeceased by his father, William "Bill" Cleghorn. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Canadian Lung Association. The family of Philip Albert Cleghorn wishes to thank the many caring medical staff of the Fredericton Extramural Association especially Nurse Amber, and Doctor Gordon MacDonald of the Fredericton Palliative Care Unit.
