The family of Mingee (Betty) Seto are saddened to announce her passing at York Care Centre, Fredericton, NB June 29, 2020. She was born June 21, 1933 in Tungshun, Kwangtung, China, the eldest daughter of Percy Hem and Leung Oi Hem.

Betty emigrated to Canada with her mother and sister when she was a very young girl.  She lived with her husband and children (Helen and Bill) in Ottawa before moving to Fredericton. Most of her life, she worked very hard at many jobs to ensure that her family was always looked after.  Everyone that came into her home was welcome to an elaborate meal that also came with her strong opinions on life matters. One of her favourite hobbies was sewing clothes for her children or knitting hats, sweaters, and mittens for her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband – Gene Wan (Fred), sister Wally Hem.  Surviving in addition to her children are her brother – Richard Hem (Tammy), Daughter-in-Law, Catherine Hughes-Seto, Grandchildren – Vanessa Voss, Jarrett Seto (Melissa Ng), Mariah Seto, Great Grandchildren - Milo and Maisie Voss and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at York Care Centre for the loving and excellent care they provided to Betty over the years. For those who wish, a donation may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a Charity of the Donor’s choice.

A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
