It is with heavy hearts and great sadness the family of Gary K. Patterson announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 12, 2016. He was 68. Gary was born in Woodstock, NB on February 2, 1948 to the late Murray and Geraldine (Dore) Patterson.

He was employed in the Correctional field with the Province of NB for over 30 years, retiring in 2009, and part time for Corrections Canada until his passing.

Survived by his loving wife of 49 years Mary Ann (Fraser) Patterson; a son Christopher (Jackie); 2 precious grandchildren Jacob and Carly who he loved beyond words; sister Diana Goodine (Reg); brothers Ray (Norma), Zenus (Carol), Murray (Lorraine), Terry (Mary), Shawn (Roxanne); sister-in-law Debbie Dunphy (Dale); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister and brother-in-laws; as well as 2 very close friends Mike Cole (Nancy) and Paul McGrattan (Maxine). Predeceased by a brother Stan and sisters Mavis and Sadie.

Gary loved and was very close to his family. He truly loved watching his grandchildren play hockey, never missing a game until he became ill. He also looked forward to the Dore family picnics.

A "Celebration of Life"  and a time for sharing stories and memories will be held at the Fredericton Inn on Sunday May 29, 2016 at 2:30 PM with Rev. Paul McGrattan officiating. For anyone wishing, donations can be made in Gary’s memory to a charity of their choice. Arrangements have been entrusted with Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road. (458-1885)
