Surrounded by her loving family Rita Joyce Hood of Fredericton passed away on Saturday June 20 2015. She was 65. Born in Penniac NB she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mardella Whitlock as well as the late Wesley and Gertrude Whitlock who adopted her from birth.
Rita is survived by her husband Eldon; son Kevin Saunders of Fredericton,; daughter Wendy Saunders of Fredericton ; step son Sheldon Hood(Jennifer) of Fredericton; 4 granddaughters Hannah, Kelsie, Bailey and Brittney, one grandson Tyson McCoy; 1 great-grandson, 1 great-granddaughter Dannielle and two brothers; Leon Whitlock (Juanita) of Hartland and Gary Whitlock of Penniac, a sister Linda Hanson(Darren), step-sisters and brother; Mary Saunders(George), Barb Gulash (Rudy) and Sam Melvin (Heather) as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister Darlene Whitlock.
A big thank you to Eleanor and Dawna for all the help and love they gave to Rita and the family during her illness.
Family will receive visitors at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road on Tuesday June 23rd 2015 from 6-9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday June 24 at 2 PM with Rev. Laurie Fenerty officiating. Interment will be in the Marysville Baptist Cemetery.
