Frances Olive Betts (nee Curtis) born May 22, 1918 to Howard and Violet (Smallwood) Curtis in Gray Rapids has passed away peacefully after a short illness.  Frances was a devoted Christian, Wife, Mother and Grandmother.  It is with deep sadness but also great faith and hope of seeing her another day, that her family who have been by her side daily, have helped with her journey into the arms of Jesus. She was called Mum by many, and she will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Frances taught school for more than 30 years in many locations and after retirement started her own bakery, Fran’s Home Baking. She was known for her cooking skills, sewing and crafts; she was an avid reader and scholar. She worked diligently her whole life to support her large family.

She is survived by her nine children, June (Wendell) Brewer, Lois (Paul) Eggert, Harold Jr. (Heather), Robert (Charlotte), Frank (Bonnie), Wendell (Sharon), Charles (Wendy), James (Cathy), and Melita (Bob) Brown; one sister, Phoebe Clowater; 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
