It is with tremendous sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antonios "Tony" Damias, of Fredericton on Sunday March 15, 2015 at the Pine Grove Nursing Home. Born on April 4, 1922 in Village of Lefkes, Paros Greece, a son of the late Konstantinos and Nikolleta (Perraki) Damias.

Tony came to Canada in 1955 and became a Canadian citizen in April of 1963. He was a painter working at UNB from where he retired. Tony was a member of the Orthodox Greek Church in London, ON and affiliated with the Lincoln Baptist Church.

Survived by his wife Irene Damias; brother Frank Damias (Helen) of London, ON; children Philip Hersey (Karen), Sandra Cronkhite (John); 4 grandchildren Mark (Amy), Matthew (Krista), Joel (Tracy), Jennie (Jamie); several great grandchildren; nieces Anastasia Damias, Nikoletta Kanapoy; nephews Nicholas Damias, George Kanapoy; as well as several other nieces and nephews in Greece. Predeceased by brothers Nicholas and Minas Damias and a sister Mapoye Kanapoy.

Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, on Thursday March 19, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday March 20, 2015 from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM with Pastor Steve Ranni officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date in Village of Lefkes, Paros Greece.  Memorials in Tony’s memory may be made to the Lincoln Baptist Church Building Fund or donor’s choice.  www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
