It is with sad hearts that the family of Geraldine F. Valleau age 86 of Kingsclear First Nation announce her passing peacefully on February 14, 2015 at the Wik-Chipolakan Senior Care Facility. The word facility does not really describe it properly. Wik-Chipolakan is an actual home and the residence and staff are a family full of love. I will always be grateful for the time Mom spent there. She was surrounded by love and people who loved her dearly, Dale and Mary (two of our favorite people) were by her bed with us. We were singing a journey song to her as she took her last breaths. We are so amazed at how peaceful and beautiful she looked. There are no words to describe the honor we feel for sharing final moments with her. Thank you so much MOM for allowing us to be there with you. LouLou (Louise) was with us all day and Mercedes was in and out, other loved ones were in and out all day to let her know how much they loved you. Mom was letting us know all day that she knew we were by her side. Born in Dover Plains, NY she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Florence (Whiten) Paul Tomer and wife of the late Charles Valleau Jr.

Geraldine was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, the North American Indian Club, a volunteer Firefighter in Arizona, the Bisbee Seniors Club also in Arizona and actively involved with the Girl Scouts in Connecticut.

She is survived by her children Charlotte Berkner (Norman) of New York, Charles Frappier of Connecticut, Toni Florence Morris of California, Rena Solomon (Dale) of Kingsclear First Nation, Helen Monroe (Chuck) of Connecticut; grandchildren Serena, Melissa, Denise, James, Anthony, Jenelle, Tiffany, Erica, Mimi, Mark, Andrew, Joshua, Dale Jr., Mercedes; great grandchildren Jon, Billy, Brandie, Stephanie, Ashley. Iziah, Marc-Anthony. Brionna, Alleyah, Brooklyn, Sophia, Cameron, Helena, Preston, MJ, Luke, Wesley, Jasmine, Willow; sister Barbara Ottley of Arizona; brothers Peter Tomer of South Carolina, Frank Tomer of New Hampshire; nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, Uncle Wimp and Aunt Gerry’s children who were Moms cousins but had a brother-sister relationship with. Predeceased by children John Wilson, Doris Frappier, grandson Matthew Solomon, brothers and sisters James Paul, Ducky Anita Myers, Wally Ottley, Beverly Merchant, Earlean Hardy.

Although there will be no visitation and following cremation, a funeral service will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Kingsclear First Nation on Friday February 20, 2015 at 11:30 AM with Rev. Monte Peters officiating. Interment will be held in the spring.

In Geraldine’s memory memorials to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the prayers and messages, I passed all of them onto Mom and there was always some kind of gesture to let me know she understood. Thank you to everyone who brought the music Mon loved, sent me and my family prayers, phone calls, visits and messages. The love everyone shared gave us the strength we all needed. I love you all….
