Beloved husband of Kim and loving father to his cherished Mallory, David Kelly passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family.

David was born September 9, 1965, the youngest son of the late Donald and Barbara (King) Kelly. David is also survived by his sister Heather and his three brothers Ron (Jane), Stephen (Beth) and Tim (Elisa), in-laws Carol and Randall Haslett, sister-in-law Melanie (David) and treasured nephews and nieces Andrew, Robert, Katelyn, Lauren, Logan and Lauren.  David is also the treasured relative of several aunts, uncles and cousins.

David favourite thing was spending time with family and friends particularly at his family cottage at Lake George.  David will be especially remembered by the "Brown Trouters", "Old Farts" group, and the Lake George gang.

Those that knew David well will remember his passion for 70’s music, the New York Islanders and at Christmas, all things Grinch.

David was a licensed vehicle insurance appraiser by trade; however, his passion was community involvement and helping others.  Dave was a tireless volunteer for numerous charities and service organizations.  He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

He was elected to the City Council of Fredericton in 1999 and was serving his fifth term representing the constituents of Ward 12 – Garden Creek / Silverwood.  David served on countless City-related committees and was Deputy Mayor at one point.

David dealt with his brain tumour diagnosis with hope, a positive attitude and a smile.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, the Chalmers Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of choice. It is hoped that others would continue David's legacy through volunteering.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 28th at the MSGR Boyd Family Center, Regent Street from 6-9 PM. A celebration of David's life will be held on Wednesday, October 29th at 12 Noon at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Monte Peters officiating.
