The passing of William "Hoppy" Paul of St. Mary’s First Nation occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on October 16, 2014, he was 79. Born in Woodstock, NB, he was a son of the late Noel and Agnes Paul and husband of the late Norma (Saulis) Paul.

Hoppy was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He was a carpenter, an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish as well as playing bingo, or when he wasn’t playing he was the Coffee Cart Attendant at St. Mary’s Entertainment Center enjoying the many friendships of the people playing.

He is survived by his daughters Julia Devoll (Lynn), Barbara Saulis, Linda Drummond (Larry), Christina Craig (Fred Falkenham), Virginia Saulis and Theresa Saulis; a son Philip Saulis; brothers Allen and David; sisters Lorraine Pelkey and Loretta Paul; grandchildren Mya, Andrew, Noel, Aaron, Tristan "TJ" and Jackson; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Herbie and sisters Christina and Millie.

Resting at his home 430 Maliseet Drive beginning Saturday October 18, 2014 at 5 PM and all day Sunday October 19, 2014. A celebration of Hoppy’s life will be held Monday October 20, 2014 from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Monte Peters officiating. Interment in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop`s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road.
