The passing of Christelle "Chris" Maxine Harris of Fredericton, NB, widow of the late John "Jack" Russell Harris occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, August 25, 2014. Chris was 89. Born in Burtt’s Corner, NB, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Alva (White) Elliotte.

Chris worked for many years as a Mail Sorter/Clerk at the Fredericton Post Office. She was an avid quilter and her embroidery work was always done to perfection and was admired by many. She was a member of Smythe Street Cathedral, Fredericton, where she was a great supporter of all church functions. Chris was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion , Branch No. 4, Fredericton and the Canadian Order of Forresters.

Chris leaves behind four daughters, Dena Correy (John) of Taymouth, Isabelle Gamblin (Jeff Parsons), Debbie Smith (Doug) and Sue Ward (John) all of Fredericton; two step-daughters, Donna Arseneau (Steve) and Joyce Clowater (Ronnie) both of Fredericton; two step-sons, Kenny Harris (Sheila) of Fredericton and Michael Harris (Jen) of Las Vegas;  a special niece, Dixie Carr (Rick) of Geary; seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, several other nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Chris was predeceased by a sister, Pearle Boone and brothers, Vincent and Allister.

The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 7-9 PM. A funeral service to be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wayne Flowers officiating assisted by Rev. Verner Drost. Interment will be held in the Riley Brook Cemetery, Riley Brook, NB on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 12:00 Noon.

The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Smythe Street Cathedral programs or Bridges of Canada.
