"Faithful servant it's time to go, your time on earth is through."         

Rachel answered Heavens "Roll Call" on Sunday, August 3, 2014. She was born October 1, 1949 in Fredericton, NB, to the late Ralph and Irene (Kingston) Gilmore.

Rachel is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Bill McLaughlin. She also leaves behind her daughter, Jeannie (Jeff) Chater of Geary, NB and son Carter McLaughlin (Amanda Wade) of Fredericton, NB. Rachel loved her family and was overjoyed by the birth of four beautiful grandchildren, Zachery and Alysha Chater of Geary, NB and Emelia and Lily McLaughlin of Fredericton, NB. She has two sisters, Barbara (Brian) Nason of Tracy, NB and Sandra (Ray) Martin of Marysville, NB; a sister-in-law, Jeri (Clifford) Bender and a brother-in-law, Donnie McLaughlin. Rachel has two "chosen" daughters, Barb Wilson and Hannah Amponsah; also a "chosen" brother and sister, Sam and Wairimu Macharia and their children Imani and Hazina all of Ontario. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Rachel was also predeceased by her nephew, Andrew Nason.

Rachel was a faithful member of Smythe Street Cathedral. Rachel would spend countless hours with her grandchildren. You would find them at the park, McDonald's, the zoo, or sitting in one of their homes doing crafts and playing for countless hours. She loved to do crafts of all kinds which also included woodworking. Rachel will always be remembered by her winning smile and her love of people. She had many, very close friends. Her trust in God is what helped her through the darkest hours of her years of sickness.

Visitation will take place at Bishops Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A celebration of Rachel's life will take place at Smythe Street Cathedral, 913 Smythe St., Fredericton on Thursday, August 7 at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Verner Drost will officiate. Interment will be in the Rusagonis Station Cemetery.
