The passing of Carman W. Leavitt of Harvey, NB occurred at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital on July 25, 2014 at the age of 81.

Born in Back Bay, NB, he was a son of the late Cecil and Theresa (Hooper) Leavitt and husband of the late Wilberta (Thibodeau) Leavitt.

Carman was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and owned/operated Leavitt’s Radiator Shop. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #4 for over thirty years, an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting.

He is survived by his companion Doris Lovean; children Margo, Wanita (Ted), Roberta (Mike), Norma (Mark); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Cynthia Leavitt, Gloria Brewer (Earl), Beryla MacDonald (Bob); brothers Reggie (Theresa), Ken (Judy); numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his sisters Ida, Rosie, brothers Cecil, Ronnie and an infant brother, grandchildren Amanda, Jeremy.

Cremation has taken place. As per Carman’s wishes there will be no visitation, a private family service will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, NB with Rev. Anne Boudreau officiating. Graveside committal service will be in the Harvey Community Cemetery on Saturday August 2, 2014 at 3:00 PM.
