Surrounded by her loving family, Zella Madeline Spares passed away peacefully and went to join Dad on April 15th, 2014. She was born April 28th, 1934 in Hants County Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of the late Putman and Margaret Anthony.
A loving wife to the late Bill Spares, devoted mother to Sandra (Brian) MacLean, Patti (Andre) Hamilton, Tony (Debbie) Spares, Janet (Garth) Thomas and Pamela (Robert) Schnarr. A wonderful "Grammie" to Jessica (Steve), Michael and Jennifer MacLean, Taylor and Blake Hamilton, Kaitlyn and Colin Spares, Amanda, Meghan and Colby Thomas, Rebecca and Jacob Schnarr and her great granddaughter Braelyn MacLean.
Mom will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and her generosity to others. A homemaker for much of her life; her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by them all, and lovingly remembered for her many, Kisses, Hugs and homemade cookies.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the exceptional team at York Care Center. It was greatly appreciated by Mom and especially the Family.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
