With sad hearts the family of Doris B. Newman, announce her passing at the York Care Center on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the age of 96. Born in Marysville, NB, she was a daughter of the late William and Lois (Brewer) Pyne and wife of the late Myles Newman. 

Doris was a faithful member of the Gibson Memorial United Church. She enjoyed knitting, was an avid gardener who loved to work in her flower beds, but what gave her the greatest pleasure was that of being a loving grandmother and great-grandmother..

 Survived by her children Frances Peters, William "Bill" his wife Gale; sister Mary Foster (Bill); brother Arthur Pyne; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers, Lloyd, Sterling and John a sister, Arthureain Estey, and son-in-law John Peters.

Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held from Gibson Memorial United Church on Wednesday June 19, 2013 at 2PM with Rev. Cora Krommenhoek officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunny Bank Cemetery.

 For those who wish, contributions in Doris’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Gibson Memorial United Church, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Pallbearers for the service will be; Howard Peters, Fenton Doak, Willie, Brian and Robin Newman as well as Scott Peters.
