The passing of Dennis Hubert Williams of Rusagonis, N.B. occurred Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was 62. Born in Toronto Ontario, he was the son of the late Douglas Raymond Williams and Gloria Margaret Cameron.
Dennis dearly loved his family and misses them already. His partner of nearly 40 years, Brenda, was dearly loved and they were best friends. He was extremely proud of his daughters, Tobi and Krista, and was pleased with their choices in partners, Adam and Mike. His newest love was for his 4 grandchildren, Connor, Kylie, Katelynn and Aidan, who he talked about constantly. His greatest regret was in not seeing them reach their potential. He will miss their trips to the Market to see Susan, the cheesecake lady.
Dennis spent about 35 years in the Credit Union system, helping to develop York Credit Union (now 2 branches OMISTA Credit Union) from having 3 employees to 24. He served that system on many boards and committees, and will miss the people he has known.
Dennis’s hobbies were puttering, renovating, reading and golf and his classic convertible. His favorite pastime was community work, having been a Rotarian, and Jaycee, in executive positions, a board member of Family Enrichment and the founding Chair of People Care Inc., the bowling coach for Special Olympics for years, a Meals on Wheels volunteer, and his enduring relationship as a member and past president and treasurer of the Epsilon Y’s Men. This worthy organization provided Dennis with 20 years of strong fellowship and helped him learn to cook for 45!! He will also miss his Wednesday night poker buddies. Twice in his life, Dennis was involved with Meals on Wheels, and it is the family’s wish that donations be made to this very worthy cause.
Although there will be no visitation, a memorial service will be held on Friday June 1st at 1P.M. from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel with Brad Green officiating. A reception will be held at the Funeral Home immediately following.
