The sudden passing of Donald A. Young of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on January 30, 2012. He was 85. Born in Burton, NB in 1926, he was the son of the late Ashley C. and Nellie (Starr) Young.

Donald was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  He enjoyed walking, woodcarving and puzzles.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley A Young; one son, Stephen Young of Red Bank, NB; a daughter, Debbie MacNeil of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) and Marla; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother and sisters; C. Edwin Young, Helen (Rev. Willard) Smith, Marjorie (Robert) Davis, Winifred (Gerald) Chesley, Ernestine (Dale) Napier Smith.

As per Donald’s request, there will be no visitation.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.
