Norma Theriault

It is with broken hearts that we announce the death of Norma (Normande) Theriault of Nasonworth, N.B. Norma passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, N.B. on Sunday, March 7, 2010 following a valiant and courageous four year battle with A. L. S. Born October 22, 1950 at Lower Caraquet, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Juste and Carmelle (Doiron) Plourde. Norma was an active and faithful member of Sts. John and Paul Roman Catholic Church in New Maryland, N.B. She worked alongside her husband Mario as an Administrative Assistant for Mario D. Theriault & Company. Norma, who loved music and loved to dance was an active member of the Elm Tree Squares and the Capital City Rounders.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 36 years, Mario D. Theriault and will be dearly missed by her two sons, André (Theresa) of Whitby, Ontario and Daniel (Mélanie) of Fredericton. She was the much loved grandmother to her four grandsons, Simon, Charlie and Victor of Whitby, Ontario and William of Fredericton. She is also survived by four sisters, Simonne Noël (Samuel) of Lower Caraquet, Elsey Plourde of Lower Caraquet, Diane Plourde (Wilbert Cormier) of Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec and Sylvie Plourde of Lower Caraquet; three brothers, Jean-Guy (Sylvie) of Middle Caraquet, Normand (Jaceline) of Bathurst, N.B. and Gildard of Lower Caraquet; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Norma was predeceased by her parents and a brother Antonio Plourde.

The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Tuesday, March 9 from 7:00 … 9:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held from Sts. John and Paul Roman Catholic Church, New Maryland, N.B. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Father Mark Trzop as celebrant. Interment in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Lincoln, N.B. at a later date. Donations to the Fredericton North Rotary Club in memory of Norma would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
