The passing of Neill Eugene Burnett of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday, June 20, 2008. He was 74.
Born January 20, 1934 in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Ashley James and Helen Mildred (Dunphy) Burnett. Neill was a member of the Island View Baptist Church and was a farmer his entire life. He and his wife Olive loved to square dance and for many years danced with the Shooting Stars.

Neill is survived by a daughter Cathy Olive (Terry) of Hanwell and a son Danny Burnett (Marilyn Hodgins) of Scotch Settlement; four grandchildren, Chris, Stephen, Jenna and Benjamin; a sister, Jean Wilson (Murray) of Mactaquac; a sister-in-law, Margaret Burnett of Fredericton; two nephews, Chad and Drew Wilson both of Fort McMurray, Alberta; a niece, Kimberley (Kim) Taylor (Frank) of Fredericton and a great niece Riley Taylor. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Olive S. (Camber) Burnett (2006) and his brother James Ronald Burnett (2006).

The family will receive relatives and friends at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 23, 2008 at 1:00 PM from the Island View Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Thompson will officiate. Interment to follow in the Dunphy Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Parkinson Society of Canada Maritime Division) or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
