It is with great sadness that we announce the
sudden passing of Barry Mathew Atwin at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital at the age of 63. He was the son of the late James Atwin and
Veronica Atwin (Solomon).
Barry served with the
Canadian Border Services Agency for 31 years. He enjoyed playing
sports, his favorite team being the Detroit Red Wings, he enjoyed the
outdoors, fishing, just sitting out getting a tan. But most of all he
loved hunting, especially when he got to have his annual hunting trip
with his brothers and nephews.
He was so full of life and his laughter was so contagious. If
you couldn’t see him you definitely heard him. He
had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to help anyone.
Barry leaves behind his special friend, Janette
Sabattis; one son Colten Kitchen; 3 brothers, Robert (Karen), Tony
(Nancy) and Frank (Janice); 3 sisters, Faye, Mona, and Phyllis
(Keith); several nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, several aunts
and a uncle, cousins and many friends. Aside from his
parents he is predeceased by his brother Keith.
By request of the family there will be no visitation. Funeral
service and interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the liver foundation or donors choice.
Special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the DECH for all their care. Also we extend our gratitude to his special friends at the CBSA for their special gifts and visits during his last days.
