It is with great sadness the Connors' family announces the passing of George Wesley Connors at the age of 92 in the early hours of Wednesday, September 25th, 2019, in Fredericton, N.B.

George was born on May 16th, 1927 in Blissfield, Miramichi, N.B. to parents Milton and Minnie Connors (nee: Weaver) and were blessed with four additional children; Mary (predeceased), Mona (predeceased), Isabel (predeceased) and Grace.

At age 9, George and family moved to Fredericton where he continued to live until his passing. With an interest in wildlife and its preservation, George pursued an education in the Ranger School at University of New Brunswick, graduating in 1952. George went on to work as a forest ranger for most of his working life where he enjoyed travelling throughout N.B. and being close to nature. It was while he was a ranger, George became acquainted to his first wife Thais nee: Robinson (predeceased).

George and Thais were married for 25 years and were parents to Dean of Fredericton, N.B. and Todd (spouse: Laurie) of Hamilton, O.N. and grandparents to Kyle (spouse: Krystal) of Brampton, O.N.

Later in life, George was married to Mary "Deanie" Evelyn nee: O'Hara (predeceased) and were together for 25 years where they enjoyed the latter parts of their careers and golden years. During this time, George enjoyed being a private driver to the Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick and his great many hobbies which included curling, cross country skiing, target shooting, cribbage, woodworking, lawn bowling & became especially fond of Spiderman later in life and was thoroughly amused by "Spidey", as he would call the masked hero.

George was an extremely humble, kind and giving person and could easily charm anyone with his gentle nature. Despite having loss and hardships in his life, he steadfastly stayed true to this nature and demonstrated the importance of these qualities to his family and to anyone he met simply by being the admirable person he was.

We will miss you and you will always be remembered.

The Connors' family would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at Shannex for the loving care they provided to George in his final days.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29th, from 6pm-8pm at Bishops Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Monday, September 30th at Bishops Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at the Hermitage Cemetery following the service.
