Helen Sharp, 90, of Fredericton NB, passed away on Sept. 23, 2019 at Hospice House. She was born April 10, 1929 and was the youngest daughter of Bertha and John (Jack) Meade of Swan Creek NB.

Helen was married to D. Bertram Sharp of Southampton, NB; they resided in Fredericton all of their lives. She is survived by her only daughter Patricia Ann Dingwall (Alex) of Fredericton, NB, her grandson Jordan Dingwall of Calgary, AB., sisters, Doris Howe, Eva Howe, Etta Robertson as well as brother-in-law Robert Sharp and sisters-in-law Marjorie Sharp, Eldena Sharp, Midge Meade and many nieces and nephews. She reconnected with a special friend Tom Estabrooks (Dartmouth, NS) after 70 years. They spent two wonderful summers exploring back roads, reminiscing about their early years and watching the sun set.

She was predeceased by her parents Bertha and John Meade, her husband D. Bertram Sharp, her siblings Wilfred, Harvey, Charles, Kenneth, George and Florence as well as sister-in-law Elizabeth (Betty) Cummings and brother-in-law Dale Sharp.

Helen was a bookkeeper and manager for a variety of businesses in Fredericton. In retirement, she and Bert spent their winters in Florida; first in Fort Myers then settling in Gulf View Estates, Pompano. She was an avid bridge player and generally loved to play cards of any sort. Her talent as a quilter was legendary; her creations are still enjoyed by many fortunate recipients. Helen was full of life and fun. Her energy and love for people made her a popular participant in whatever was happening. She was also a confidante to many of her nieces and nephews as she had the ability to listen without judgement and gently guide their decisions.

A private burial will take place in Fredericton. A gathering to celebrate the life of Helen Sharp will be held in the spring of 2020. Memorial donations in Helen’s name may be made to Hospice Fredericton, the Liver Foundation of Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
