Harold LaPorte of St. Mary’s First Nation passed over peacefully to the Spirit World on September 11th 2019, surrounded by his family and extended family. Born in Saint John NB, he was the son of the late Susan LaPorte.

Harry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie LaPorte, his one and only daughter Sonia LaPorte, Granddaughter Celia Wilson (Jeremy), Grandson Taylor Milliea (Savannah) and Great-Grandchildren Thunder Milliea, Hudson and Macy Wilson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and Special Nephew Kevin Sappier. 

Harry was a proud Wolastoq man who worked hard to preserve our culture and beliefs. 

Harry worked for Corrections Canada the majority of his life. Recently he operated Kikewey Wig (Healing House) for First Nations Inmates. 

Harry loved his family time at Lake George. He loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid outdoorsman. 

Harry will be resting at his home, 30 Paul Street, St. Mary’s First Nation. Visitation will take place Friday, September 13th beginning at 2pm to Sunday, September 15th where a celebration of his life will be held at noon.
