It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Angus Cottreau due to him losing his battle with cancer. He breathed his last breath in the Fredericton Hospice House on July 2, 2019. Angus was born on March 25, 1944 in Yarmouth, N.S. and was the son of the late Leslie and Francis Cottreau.

Along with his siblings, nieces, and nephews, Angus will be remembered by his loving wife of 49 years, Gloria; his two daughters and son-in-law, Laurie Belgrave, Lesley Bolster, and Brent Bolster, and also by his grandchild Peyton Belgrave and furry and four-legged grandchildren, Charli and Samantha.

Angus’ most cherished part of his career was managing the K-Mart on Smythe Street in Fredericton, N.B. He was known by many customers and employees due to his fair and loyal leadership. Angus touched the lives of many by inspiring them to pursue strong work ethic and perseverance. After retiring from management, he took his talents elsewhere and worked for Hallmark. This was another fond memory of Angus’ because he was working alongside his wonderful wife. He was a family man and a great woodworker, and he will live on in our memories.

To honour Angus’ life a small mass will take place at the Holy Family Parish for family and close friends on Monday, July 8 at 11am.

The family would like to thank all of the medical staff that allowed us to have more time with him and especially the staff that made his serene transition to eternal peace. We ask that all donations be made to the Fredericton Hospice House online at hospicefredericton.ca and online condolences can be made to Bishops Funeral Home at bishopsfuneralhome.com.
