The passing of Lucille Ray Soucie of Fredericton NB occurred on Sunday, May 19th, 2019 at the Shannex Thomas Hall in Fredericton NB, she was 97.

Born in Saint John NB on December 17, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Allen Northrup & Ethel (Belyea).

Baptist by faith, Lucille was a fifty plus year member of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, the Steppingstone Seniors Club, Elm Tree Square Dancing Club, Silver Dolphins Senior Bowlers club and was also an avid Synchronized Swimmer. Lucille travelled all over Canada, Europe, Hawaii and renewed her marriage vows on a Caribbean cruise on her fiftieth wedding anniversary.   

Lucille is survived by her son Wayne Soucie (Maureen) of Fredericton, a daughter Dianne Zborowski (David) of Regina SK, grandchildren Kelly Soucie, Darin Soucie (Jane) of Moncton NB, Michelle Langill (Roger) Comox BC, Christian Soucie of Regina SK,  great-grandchildren Matthew, Maya, Marc, Blake, Brea and Ettore, several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Alphonse Soucie and a sister Pauline Meikle.

A funeral service will be held from Brunswick Street Baptist Church on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 1PM with Rev. Greg Geldart officiating & Rev. Steve Patterson assisting. Following interment in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension, a reception will take place in the church hall. Pallbearers for the service will be, Darin Soucie, Robert MacFarlane, Calvin Meikle, and Ron Harvey.

For those who wish, memorial donations in Lucille’s memory can be made to the Brunswick Street Baptist Church Building Fund, Alzheimer’s Society of NB, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the all the Staff at Thomas Hall Shannex for the excellent care given to Lucille during her time there.
