The passing of David Allan Thornton of Fredericton occurred on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Woodstock NB, he was a son of the late Edward and Mildred (Cummings) Thornton.
David worked as a Finish Carpenter all his life, learning the trade along side his father. He was also an avid model train collector.
Surviving are his common law wife of twenty-two years Ann MacNeily, two daughters Heidi Taylor (Steve) of Fredericton, Stacey Thornton (Andrew Dykeman) of Fredericton, a stepdaughter Michelle MacNeily of Fredericton one sister Connie Pederson of PEI, one brother Gordon Thornton (Wendy) of Fredericton, two grandsons Jack & Aidan Taylor, as well as his loving companions Max, Eddy and Rudy.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by one sister Betty and one brother Edward "Chickie".
It was David’s request that there be no visitation or formal funeral service. For those who wish to donate in his memory, a contribution to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or the Fredericton Area SPCA would be appreciated.
