The passing of Ivan Joseph Burns of Fredericton, NB occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the age of 81. Born at Bartholomew, NB on March 6, 1937 he was a son of the late Barry and Mina (Fitzsimmons) Burns.

Ivan was a well-respected Maintenance Worker at several locations throughout the local area over the years. Ivan was a proud and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No.4, Fredericton and just recently received his 60-year pin.

Surviving are a son Ken; a chosen son Gary (Emma) and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ivan will also be lovingly remembered by Loretta Burns and brothers Harold (Cathy), Frank (Sylvia), Wayne (Bonnie) and Rick (Susan); nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Ivan was predeceased by daughters Cindy Burns and Mary-Lynn Burns, also a brother Alvin.

No visitation by request. An informal gathering and a remembrance service will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the Royal Canadian Legion, 199 Queen St., Fredericton, NB. Burial later. The R.C.L. Branch No.4, Fredericton has been designated for memorial contributions.
