Surrounded by the love and comfort of her family, Doris Vivian Piercy completed her earthly journey at the Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the age of 91. Born at Bright Parish, NB, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Myrtle (Gourley) Brewer and was the loving and devoted wife of the late Eugene John Piercy.

Doris loved and found great enjoyment working in her flower gardens.

Doris was so proud of and devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by her sons, Robert (Catherine), Joe (Ellen) and Jack (Sheri); 14 grandchildren, Heather, Virgil, Mellissa, David, Maggie, Justin, Brandon, Lyndsay, Troy, Patty, Christy, Angie, Jeff, Afton and many great-grandchildren. Doris is also survived by one sister, Mary Hood; sisters-in-law Jeanette Messer and Ethel Piercy; a son-in-law, Errol Graham; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Aside from her parents and husband, Doris was predeceased by a daughter, Sonia Graham; son, David; sisters, Anna Saunders and Helen Gunter, also brothers, Otis, Murray, Hedley and Elton Brewer.

The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 12 Noon until 2:00 PM followed immediately by a memorial service in Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Carl Smith will officiate. A private interment will be held later.

An extra special thanks to the nurses and staff at Pine Grove Nursing Home for their excellent and loving care of Doris.
