Such a beautiful soul is never forgotten and with that thought, we the family of Helen Frederica MacGougan sadly announce her passing on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Our beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother gave us much to remember and we are so grateful for the love and happiness she gave us.

Born in Fredericton on August 24, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Horace and Janet (Grasse) Drummond and a loving and devoted wife to the late Albert Ira MacGougan.

Baptist by faith, she loved her church family at the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church. As a dedicated employee of Zellers Ltd. for many years, she made many lasting friendships with both her fellow co-workers and the shoppers. Her beautiful smile and warm welcome endeared her to many people. She was an enthusiastic member of the Cousins Club, loved to crochet and one of her most favorite pastimes was coloring. Her neighbours were an important part of her life and she dearly loved them for their many visits and support over the years.

Helen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Betty Hennessey (Edgar) and Michael "Mike" MacGougan (Tina). Her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jackie, Gillian, Robb, Allison, Michael, David and her 9 great-grandchildren brought so much joy to her heart. Helen is also survived by two sisters, Pauline MacDonald and Barbara McLaughlin, also a sister-in-law, Millie MacGougan; nieces and nephews.

Aside from her parents and husband, Helen was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Abby Lou Brown, son-in-law Robert "Bob" J. Brown, a sister Betty Ball and brothers Eugene and Douglas Drummond.

The family will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 12 Noon until 1:45 PM followed by a memorial service from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with her grandson, Bishop Robb MacGougan officiating. A reception at the funeral home will follow the service. Interment in the Sunny Bank Cemetery later.

As a way to remember this beautiful lady, memorials to the Diabetes Canada (NB) or The Kidney Foundation of Canada (Atlantic Canada Branch) would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and the sharing of memories may be expressed through www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
