It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Edward Blunston of Penniac, NB announce his unexpected passing on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Jack was 66. Born February 20, 1952 in Fredericton, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Barbara E. (LaPointe) Blunston.

Jack was a dedicated and much-loved employee of the former Victoria Public Hospital, the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital and prior to his retirement, the Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton. Jack took unwavering pride in his job whether it be in the Housekeeping Department, SPD or as a Custodian. In his 33 years of service in the hospital industry, whatever he was assigned to do, he always did it in excellence.

Jack leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, the former Peggy E. Babineau; two sons, who were his pride and joy, Jason (Jessica) Blunston and Cory (Shelly) Blunston; Jack dearly loved his four grandchildren, Jacob (Courtney), Jordan (Shawn), Tanner and Joel; his great-granddaughter Jaylin and his step-great grandson, Trey. Jack is also survived by his sister, Sassi-Mint Grace; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by five siblings, Sharon, Robert, Jeanne, Richard and Donald.

There will be no visitation or formal funeral service. To celebrate the life of Jack Blunston, an informal gathering for family and friends will be held at the Penniac Rec Centre, Penniac, NB on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It will be an opportunity for family and friends to share a story or some meaningful thoughts of Jack’s life.

For those who wish to remember Jack by way of a charitable donation the family has suggested The Diabetes Association or the Lung Association of NB.
