It is with sad hearts that the family of Marek Jacek Krasowski of Fredericton announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on August 26th, 2018. He was 65. Born in Poland, he was a son of Helena (Wawrowska) Hennig and of the late Henryk Krasowski.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, friend and soulmate Renata (Rauhut) Krasowski, daughter Dorota Lucente (Mario) of Calgary, sons George and Graham of Fredericton, granddaughter Cassandra Curteanu of Calgary, brother Jacek Krasowski of Poland, as well as many members of the extended family and dear friends in Canada and overseas.
Marek arrived in Canada in 1982 and embraced it as his new homeland, at the same time remaining immensely proud of his Polish heritage. A professional forester by trade, he furthered his education at the University of Victoria while working for the British Columbia Ministry of Forests. After obtaining his doctorate he joined the Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management at the University of New Brunswick, where he worked until his retirement in July 2018. Hugely dedicated to his work and to his students, he found great fulfillment in his academic career.
Marek was very devoted to his family. He was also a man of great heart, who helped many people in need whom he met on his way. Among his many talents and interests were good cooking – always to be shared, and passion for music, reading and travel.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
