"As a family, our hearts are heavy with sadness" Those to whom we say farewell, are welcomed by others. Open arms welcomed Peter as he entered his heavenly home, following a sudden and brief illness. Peter courageously and peacefully completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Born in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of Hope C. (Elliott) Piers and the late George W. Piers.

From a very young age Peter honored God. With his simplicity of faith, God honored Peter's trust in Him in so many ways and Peter lived knowing that not one thing is ever too small for God to consider. That’s faith in action.

Peter was employed as a Commissionaire with Toromont Cat for a number of years. Being around people and making a difference is what attracted Peter to become a Realtor and working with Exit Realty in Fredericton allowed Peter to make many lasting friendships. He also owned and operated Hope’s Bakery for over 20 years.

Peter was an avid lover of music and he found his gifting in playing the drums. When Peter played the drums, it was like he was painting a sound picture. He was a drummer that could put the framework around everything pertaining to music. From the very depth of his spirit, Peter was able to display his passion for drumming so beautifully it was like a work of art.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Kelly (Worrall) Piers. He loved and was loved by his two amazing sons, Zachary Piers (Sara MacLean) and Shain Piers. Mention his two beautiful grandchildren, Taylor and Noah, you could easily see the delight and joy in his eyes. Peter will be dearly missed by his mother, Hope and siblings, Mark (Angela) Piers, Heidi Bieber and Deidre Piers (Jamie Durnford) as well as a number much loved and treasured nieces, nephews, a great-niece, aunts, uncles and cousins. Peter is also survived by his mother-in-law Carla Worrall, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Welcoming Peter to his heavenly home was his father George, who recently passed on January 5, 2018 and his father-in-law Doug Worrall (2004).

The family will gather at Smythe Street Cathedral, 913 Smythe St., Fredericton, for a time of visitation on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating the life of Peter will be held from the church on Tuesday, July 24 at 11:00 AM. A reception and an opportunity to visit with family members will follow. Interment will be private. Memorials to Diabetes Canada (NB)would be appreciated by the family. Words of comfort and online condolences may be forwarded through our website at www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
