At Thomas Hall, Shannex in Fredericton on Wednesday July 18, 2018, Florence Lenore Sharpe passed away eight days before her 88th birthday. Born in Lower St. Mary’s, NB, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Wiggins) Jones. Florence provided child care for over 50 children over the years, including her own grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, embroidering and ceramics. Florence also loved camping, days at the lake, bouquets of wildflowers, cooking and baking. She was especially known for her donuts and mince meat.
She is survived by her loving husband, of nearly 73 years, Merle; one son Stanley Sharpe (Bernice) of Keswick Ridge; three daughters Jocelyn Millican of Fredericton, Katherine Anderson (George) of Keswick Ridge, Barbara Hong (Kenn) of Fredericton; eight grandchildren Scott Millican (Annie), Jody Lavalee (Marcel), Joshua Anderson (Amy), Jill Anderson, Justin Anderson (Thea), Jadrien Hong (Kris), Thomas Hong, Quinlyn Hong; nine great grandchildren Tristan, Taylor, Taryn, Jackson, Scarlet, Wyatt, Keane, Levi and Xavier; three siblings Mavis Currie, Arden Jones (Suzanne), Edmund Jones (Helen),; sisters-in-law Ardith Lawrence and Madeline Jones; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two infant children Murray and Janet; three siblings Durwood Jones, Alvah Jones Gordon Jones and Evelyn Grant; son-in-law David Millican.
No visitation by request of the family. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Contributions made to the Scotch Settlement Cemetery in memory of Florence would be appreciated by the family. Bishop’s Funeral Home have been entrusted with the arrangements. Florence’s family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Thomas Hall for the care they provided to her over the last year.
