The Delmas family announce the passing of their beloved mother Sally, wife of the late Francis Delmas. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 6, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.  Sally was born in Niha, Lebanon on July 17, 1930 and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1951.

Sally was kind and generous as well as a high energy person who worked very hard and persisted in the face of many challenges. After her husband became a paraplegic, Sally capably managed their businesses, as well as their household of six children.

There was nothing that Sally liked better than preparing a meal for her family, especially when her grandchildren were around.  Her favorite pastime was playing backgammon, cards with her grandchildren and her vacations to Barbados.

Sally is survived by her children George, Andy, Mary, Gisele, Jackie and Peter, grandchildren Sebastian and Damian Delmas, Charles and Rikki Martina Doak. She is also survived by her sisters, Watfa El Khoury (Joe), Sabina Keenan; her brothers Percy Khoury (Christine), Tom Khoury (Hoda), Albert Khoury (Audrey), Abe Khoury and Charlie Khoury (Maxine); sister in law Connie Khoury; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sam and Helen Khoury, Sally was predeceased by her brother, Joe; her sister, Mary; her niece, Sonya Khoury, brother in law Jim Keenan as well as her grandparents Marion and Abraham Sweed and their sons George and Joseph.

There will be a visitation at Bishops Funeral Home on Sunday, June 10 from 6 pm to 8 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Dunstan’s Church on Monday, June 11 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
