Martine’s passing occurred at Hospice Fredericton on Sunday, May 27, 2018. Martine was born in Clair, N.B. on February 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Delina (Cyr) and Oscar Levasseur. Martine is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Upon completing her studies at St. Joseph, she worked in Fredericton for the Dept. of Agriculture as a Home Economist. After WWII Martine met and married Claude Gallant, her husband of 51 years. They had 4 children, Gloria (deceased), Michele (Dan Gannon of Calgary), Paulette (Greg Standish), and Joseph. She is also survived by 2 adored grand-daughters, Danielle Kershaw (David) of Fredericton and Arielle Matthews of Halifax, beloved great grandchildren, Madeleine and Michael Kershaw and several nieces and nephews who she loved very much.

No visitation by request. There will be a memorial service at St. Dunstan’s Church, 120 Regent St., Fredericton, on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 12:05 PM with Father Bill Brennan officiating.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the caring and compassionate staff and volunteers at Hospice Fredericton, the incredible Extramural Program team, special caregiver Rose, Dr. Keddy, and her group of loving friends.
