The family of Bill McQuoid announce his passing on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, N.B. at the age of 87.  Bill was the devoted husband of Joan (Buckley) for 62 years and the son of the late Hope and Helen Jane (Swinton).  Bill was the loving father of Mike (Diane) of Dallas and Heather (Paul) of Fredericton and proud grandfather to Amanda of Houston, Brant (Melissa) of Denver, Matt (Sarah) of Fredericton, Andy of Edmonton and Viki (Rey) of Winnipeg and great-grandfather to William of Denver plus many fur babies (too many to mention).

Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was the last surviving member of his family predeceased by sisters Hope, Barbara, Connie and Ruth.

In the years past, Dad loved to visit his niece Linda at the lake and looked forward to sharing Sunday dinners with her especially the desserts that she lavished on him.  Linda brought great joy to dad over the years and was a constant companion.  Dad also enjoyed golfing, curling, crossword puzzles and Sunday drives.  Dad's favourite expression was "that's beautiful" whether it was a great golf shot, war movie or dinner.  Dad had a quirky sense of humour and always had a smile on his face.

The family would like to thank Dr. Doug Varty for his kindness and compassion over the years.  We would also like to pass on our sincere gratitude to the staff of 4E for the excellent care that was provided to dad until the end.  We would also like to extend our appreciation to Jane Buckley for her support - no task was too big or small.  Jane you are an angel and we could not have managed without you.

Dad would not want us to be sad, therefore, no visitation or service will be held.  However, the family will receive friends and visitors to celebrate dad's life at the home of Paul and Heather (51 Bliss Carman Drive in Fredericton) on Sunday, April 29th between 2 - 4 pm.

Dad - we hope that your drives are long and straight, all putts are gimmies and your curling draws stop on the button. One more thing, go easy on the vegetables, save room for dessert!

Contributions to the Alzheimer Society of NB would be appreciated. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be sent through  www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
