Loved mother of Karon and Reigh, Phyllis Jordan died at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton NB on March 29, 2018.

Radio and television personality, Romper Room’s "Miss Phyllis" at CKCW, Moncton in the 60’s and ambassador for Ste. Anne’s Court (she should have been on the payroll!), she gave us love and happiness. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was a shining example of positive living following a devastating stroke in 2006.

Predeceased by her husband Herbert H. Jordan in 2005 and her brother Reigh Eldridge in 2017, Phyllis was the eldest daughter (born in Yarmouth, NS on August 18, 1926) of Harry and Nellie (Porter) Eldridge (deceased). She is survived by her daughter Karon Croll (Jim), son Reigh Sweezey (Elaine), sister Jean Marshall in Bridgewater NS, sister-in-law Lois Eldridge, grandchildren Kassia and Kyle Sweezey, great grandchildren Nicholas Schlakat, Cohen and Lily Sweezey, special niece and nephew Claire and Len MacFarlane, and their children Leah (Matt) and Sarah Kate (Marc); Stephen and Nancy Eldridge and thier children Jessica (Sean) and Zach.

In her younger days, Phyllis was a singer with the RCAF Greenwood dance band, and a member and director of the chapel choir at RCAF Chatham. She lived in Ellsworth, Maine for 32 years, helping Herb manage their cottage properties on Green Lake. She was a generous donor to the Fredericton YMCA, a member of the Y’s Strong Kids Program, and a member of the Fredericton Heritage Hooking Guild.

No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place. Private family burial at a later date. At Phyllis’ request, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road (458-1885).
