It is with great sadness that the family of Jon Cowie of New Maryland, NB announces his passing on Friday, March 23, 2018 at the age of 17. Born in London ON, he was a son of Edward Cowie (Penny Miller) and Jill (McKerral) Cowie (Brian Ellick)
Jon was known for his sense of humor, he was quick witted and loved to joke and tease. A great writer and illustrator, he spent many hours gaming with friends and was meticulous with everything he did, doing well in school. He was a dedicated Wendy’s employee never shying away from picking up extra shifts when he was needed. He loved cats especially Buds, Judy and Hops who he grew up with.
Jon will be deeply missed by his parents; brothers Matthew, Lex and Stephen, maternal grandmother Diane McKerral, maternal great grandmother Rita "Kerri" McCurdy, aunts, and uncles; Michael (Rachel), Patricia (Paul), Ann (Tim, Paul), Linda (Scott), Doug (Darlene) and Jackie (Glenn) as well as several cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Eric and Rita Cowie as well as his maternal grandfather Gerald McKerral.
The family will be receiving friends at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Monday March 26th from 12-2 PM at which time a celebration of life will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jon may be made to the Mental Health Association.
