It is with great sadness that the family of Colin Barrett announces his sudden passing, on March 1, 2018 at the age of 88 years.
Colin will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Joyce and his children, Susan (Elmer), Beth (Bob), Peter (Susan), David (Betty), Michael (Kathy). Colin will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, John, Adam, Joshua, Jordan, Tyler, four step grandchildren, Peter, Kerrianne, Amy, Stacey and four greatgrandchildren, Liam, Sophie, Anna, Neve, by his sister, Rhona (Paul).
Colin was predeceased by his parents, Hazen and Margaret Barrett, three brothers, Lloyd, Russell, Glen, four sisters, Audrey, Virginia, Esther, Hughena.
Colin was a well-respected teacher and high school Principal spanning a career of 37 years. An avid golfer and curler for the last 50 years, Colin will be missed at the Fredericton Golf Club and Capital Winter Club.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, where visitation will take place on Saturday March 3rd, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, March 4th, 2018 at 3 PM at Grace Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Peter Lohnes officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, donations in Colin’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
