At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Thursday February 15, 2018 Gene "Houdini" Mallaley of Geary, NB passed away at the age of 57. Born in Dalhousie, NB he was a son of the late Thomas and Josephine (Mallaley) Godin.
Gene, over the years, worked a variety of jobs. He started his working life on a sanitation truck, then moved on to driving truck for Gibson’s Mill, then worked as a commercial painter. Gene enjoyed driving classic cars and motorcycles. He loved having big family gatherings, fishing and picking fiddleheads.
He is survived by his partner Heather; his siblings Marie Paul (Brian) of Fredericton, Gary Goodin (Jenny) of Zealand, Peter Godin of Fredericton, Patsy Godin (Perry) of Fredericton; mother-in-law Thora Locke of Geary; special nephews Randy Firth, Chris Paul, Matthew Godin, Dustin Godin all of Fredericton; several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as several lifelong friends including Tommy Nash and Paul LaPointe.
The family will receive friends for a visitation period from 6-7:30 PM on Tuesday February 20, 2018 at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton followed by a memorial service at 7:30 PM with Rev. Adrian-David Robichaud officiating. A private family interment will take place in the spring.
