Following in the footsteps of love ones who have gone on before, Mae McGilligan of Fredericton, caught a glimpse of that new and sunlit shore and departed this life peacefully in the presence of her loving daughter Cathy, son-in-law Greg and sister Diana in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Frederick Hall, Shannex, Fredericton.

Born October 3, 1927 at McNamee, NB, she was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Robert and her beloved husband Tom (2005).

Mae leaves behind her son Gerry (Lucy) and her daughter, Cathy Mignault (Greg) both of Fredericton; four grandchildren, Terri-Lee Cooper (Dan) of Bedford, NS, Andrew McGilligan (Becky) of Fredericton, Kristina Fleming (Matthew) of Calgary AB and Michael Mignault of Fredericton and 5 great-grandchildren, Molly and Elliot Cooper, Harper and Olive McGilligan and Thomas Fleming. Mae is also survived by a brother Ernest (Brenda) and sisters, Inez, Shirley, Elma (Al), Ruthene (Winston) and Diana (Paul); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Aside from her parents and husband, Mae was predeceased by her grandson Jason (1975): sisters Georgina, Catherine, Jennie and Eileen; also, a number of aunts and uncles.

Mae’s request for no funeral or visitation will be respected. Burial will take place later.
