The passing of Gary Charles Hinchey of Hanwell, NB, beloved husband of Sereta L. (Black) Hinchey, completed his earthly journey on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB. Gary was 65. Born October 14, 1952 in Fredericton, he was a son of the late William S. and Edna F. (Hallett) Hinchey.

Gary was a self-employed electrician. Through his work as an electrician, Gary made many lasting friendships over the years. He was an avid outdoorsman and found peace and solitude being surrounded by nature. Hunting (especially Moose hunting), fishing and camping with his buddies were a few of his favorite pastimes. Gary loved to cook and was always appointed "the cook" on every outing.

Gary leaves behind the love of his life, Sereta, his loving and devoted wife of 46 years. His two children, son Billy Hinchey (Charity) of Harvey, York Co and his daughter, Maria Doucette of Upper Kingsclear were his pride and joy. He cherished the times he could spend with his four much loved grandchildren, Makenzie Hinchey, Emma Hinchey, Samuel Hinchey and Lucas Doucette. Gary also leaves behind 4 siblings, Raymond (Carole) of Island View, Wayne (Betty) of Fredericton, Margaret Wetmore (Jack) of Island View and Linda Watson (Bob) of Fredericton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a brother-in-law Roy Kelly of Kingsclear.

Aside from his parents, Gary was predeceased by a brother Lorne (Glenna) and sisters, Carolyn Kelly and Esther Hinchey.

There will be no visitation hours by request of the family, however, a memorial service celebrating the life of Gary Hinchey will be held from St. James Presbyterian Church, 1991 Rte. 640, Hanwell, NB on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Wendy MacWilliams will officiate. Interment at a later date.

For those who wish to remember Gary by way of a memorial contribution, the family suggests donating to Hospice House, Fredericton.
