It is with sorrow the family of Preston Earle Hawkins announce his passing on 5 January, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 15, 1943 in Douglas, NB to the late Earle and Ayesha (Hallett) Hawkins.

Preston grew up in Douglas, NB on his family's fruit farm. Preston attended and graduated from UNB Fredericton with a BBA and furthered his career by obtaining his CMA. Most of his career was with the provincial Department of Finance. He loved to golf, especially at Mactaquac Provincial Golf Course.  When not golfing, he could be found on the ice at the Capital Winter Club curling.  Preston enjoyed travelling and seeing the world, especially by cruise ship. During his early young family years Preston passed his love of the outdoors along to his children through camping and water sports. 

Remaining with loving memories, his wife of 50 years, Sandra (Hallett) Hawkins, his two children Andrea Child (Steven) of London, ON and Leanne Perrin (Corey) of Douglas, NB. Grand children Alysha Lynn and Matthew John Earle of London, ON, Carter Wallace and Spencer Elliott of Douglas, NB, Brother Russell (Liz) Hawkins of Elgin, NB and sister-in-law Charlene (Murray) Stavenow of Pinekney, MI.

There will be no visitation hours by request of the family, however, a memorial service celebrating the life of Preston E. Hawkins will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 6:00 PM. Interment at a later date.

For those who wish to remember Preston by way of a memorial contribution, the family suggests donating to the Alzheimer’s Association of NB.
