At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Monday November 6th, 2017, Mrs. Joan Yvonne Smith of Fredericton passed away at the age of 74. Born in St. Stephen, NB, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred Bryant and Lillian Gladys (Merchant) McCullough.
She will be deeply missed by her children; Georgina Wilson (Steve), Bob Smith, Steve Smith (Karen), Glen Smith (Cindy), Tina Smith (Edmond) and Veronica Smith. She has 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a sister Wanda (Robin), brothers Jerry and Billy, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John Harold Smith and her brother Russell.
Joan loved to read, spend time with her family and her dear friend Edith Holland.
A special thank you to her granddaughter Jessica for all the extra care and support she provided in the past few months.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Saturday November 11th, 2017 at 2 PM.
