Rodney Sacobie of Kingsclear First Nation passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the age of 40. Born in Fredericton, NB on June 17, 1977, he was a son of Francis and Karen (Sacobie) Solomon and husband of Lisa A. (McKinnon) Sacobie.

Rodney worked as a laborer and was a dedicated Sundance Warrior.

Rodney had a great love for his family. Aside from his parents, Francis and Karen and his wife of 14 years, Lisa, he leaves behind four children, Angie Sabattis of Kingsclear First nation, Brady McLaughlin of Ottawa, ON, Madison and Simu Sacobie both of Kingsclear First Nation. He is also survived by a step-daughter Kaitlin McKinnon of Miramichi; a brother Butch Solomon of Kingsclear First Nation and four sisters, Erika Solomon and her son Gabriel Polchies of Kingsclear First Nation, Crystal Polchies of St. Mary’s First Nation, Melanie and Nicole Solomon both of Kingsclear First Nation; several other nieces, nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rodney was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, William and Theresa (Polchies) Sacobie as well as a special uncle, Fred Sacobie.

Rodney will be resting at his late home, 32 Porcupine Court, Kingsclear First Nation on Wednesday evening, October 11 and all-day Thursday, October 12. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 716 Church St., Kingsclear First Nation on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Father Curtis Sappier officiating. Interment will be private and at a later date.
