"A beautiful soul is never forgotten." Andrea Leigh Pond was a beautiful and creative soul who was at peace with God and nature when her earthly journey ended peacefully and with dignity and grace on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. She was 48.

Andrea’s working career was with Sports Chek in Fredericton for many years and it was there that many lasting and treasured friendships were formed. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Her beautiful spirit touched many lives.

Andrea had a very deep and strong faith that endeared her not only to humanity but also to creation. She loved nature to the fullest and found such peace and solitude when surrounded by all of earths beauty whether it be working with flowers, gardening, capturing birds and animals in their natural habitat with her gift of photography or simply listening to the waves crashing against the shoreline. Beauty in whatever form had a voice that she understood and appreciated.

Her passing has left a void in the life of her loving and devoted husband of 20 years, Stephen Clain. Her parents, Carman and Connie (Chase) Pond of Fredericton, will forever miss and cherish a precious daughter who brought so much beauty and love to their lives. Andrea’s only sibling, Tammy Kelly (Terry) of Beaver Dam, NB has so many beautiful memories of an amazing sister that will last a life time. Andrea also leaves behind a much-loved grandmother, Dorothy Chase of Fredericton; mother-in-law, Sharon Clain of Sussex Corner; sisters-in-law, Barbara Brown (Jake), Susan Anderson and Donna Price (Ken); brothers-in-law, Stewart Clain, Bryant Clain and Danny Clain (Stephanie) as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Andrea’s grandfather, Charles Chase, her step-grandfather James Hourihan, paternal grandparents, Maurice and Allie Pond, her father-in-law, Bernard Clain and several aunts, uncles, and cousins all predeceased her.

A visitation for family, extended family and friends will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service celebrating the life of Andrea Pond will be held from Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 23 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Chris Price officiating. Interment will be in the Marysville Baptist Cemetery.

For those who wish to remember Andrea by way of a memorial contribution, donations to Breast Cancer Research or a favorite charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and the sharing of memories may be expressed through www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
