Gerard Sean McGrady, 53, died unexpectedly Saturday August 12, 2017 in Binghamton, New York. He is survived by his wife Wendy Wright-Gardner, his son Oliver, parents Gerry and Sheila, brother, Chris, and sisters, Roisin and Siobhan

Gerard Sean McGrady is the first full professor brought into Binghamton University under its Smart Energy Initiative, one of the five transdisciplinary areas of excellence.

After 10 years of researching and teaching at the University of Oxford and King’s College-London, McGrady served for 12 years as a senior professor at the University of New Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday september 6, 2017 at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Rd, Visitation will precede the service from 1:30-3:30 pm.  He will be cremated and returned to England for burial.  Please consider a monetary gift to his family for his son Ollie's future needs.

He will be deeply missed by many friends, colleagues, and students from around the world.
