It is with great sadness that the family of Paula Ingersoll announce her passing on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital at the age of 98. Born in North Head Grand Manan, NB on May 1, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ora (Humphrey) Ingersoll and wife of the late Kenneth Ingersoll, who passed away in 1988.

Paula graduated from PNS in 1937 and later from UNB. She was employed as a school teacher for 27 years. She loved to travel making many trips overseas and across Canada and the United States. Paula was an avid reader and a member of the Eastern Star and the A.C.W.

Surviving are two sons Roderick (Nancy), Derek (Brenda) and five daughters Deborah Daggett, Stephanie Bishop (Donald), Mary Hartt (Darwin), Sarah Ingersoll and Nancy Normandeau (Jacques); eleven grandchildren; Andrew, Michael, Jared, Sybil, Rod, Shawn, Patti, Brian, Jimmy, Sarah, and Grace, 14 great-grandchildren and special niece Patsy Gosselin.

She was also predeceased by a brother Charles, son-in-law Douglas Daggett, infant granddaughter Mary, infant grandson Ethan.

A special thank you to all the faithful friends who visited our mother throughout her later years. A very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Athar and all the wonderful staff of 4SE who couldn’t have been more compassionate and professional. Thank you to the workers at Shannex who watched over our mother each day. 

Visitation will be held at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road on Friday, September 1st from 3-6 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Saturday, September 2nd, 2017 at 11 AM with Canon Tom Smith officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery. A reception will be held following the funeral service at the church hall.
