It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of J. Milton Kerr of Fredericton on July 1, 2017 at the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 26, 1919 in Summer Hill, NB, he was the son of the late James and Annie (Cooper) Kerr and husband of the late Sarah Jane (Warrell) Kerr.
Milton was a member of St. Paul’s United Church. In his early years he farmed in Summer Hill and in 1953 he moved to Fredericton, going to work for the City of Fredericton Public Works Department retiring after 29 years in December of 1983.
Survived by his loving and devoted daughter Barbara Hansen (Gerry) of Burlington, ON; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Robert Kerr; a sister Hazel and 2 grandchildren.
Following cremation, a celebration of Milton’s life will be held on Monday July 10, 2017 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at Bishop’s Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a service with Rev. Michelle Armstrong officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
Private interment will take place in the Rural Cemetery. In Milton’s memory and in lieu of flowers donation’s to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
